About Us
Kilovolt Engineering, founded in 2021 and headquartered in Warner Robins, Georgia, specializes in all facets of distribution engineering up to 25 kV. What sets us apart is our hands-on field experience and deep understanding of real-world electrical challenges.
Our founders bring together an exceptional 30 years of expertise in the power industry, focusing on MV planning, troubleshooting, protective-device coordination, sectionalizing studies, and field inspections.
We have successfully completed several USDA RUS work plans for rural utilities—most recently a plan valued at ≈ $100 million—and manage engineering operations for fleets of over 50 substations and 200 feeder circuits.

Representative Projects
- 41.7 MVA 115 kV/12.47 kV Substation (2023). Lead protection & SCADA commissioning—including permissive, mirrored-bits scheme to prevent double-circuit miscoordination.
- System-wide Distribution Automation Deployment (2021-24). Programmed & commissioned 240 + reclosers and 150 + breaker relays under an RTAC-driven centralized controller, boosting reliability KPIs by double-digit percentages.
- EV Fast-Charging Infrastructure Design. Sized medium-voltage infrastructure such as transformers and conductors, coordinated logistics with Tesla and Mercedes-Benz for an 8 MVA (peak load) EV charging hub in middle Georgia.
- Rotational Load-Shed Integration. Implemented Survalent RLS module enabling automated distibution circuit curtailments in 15-minute rotations—compliant with Southern Power Balancing Authority directives.
- Feeder Reliability Analytics. Built VBA/SQL tool that converts raw OMS data into SAIDI/SAIFI heat-maps, guiding CAPEX toward the worst-performing circuits and saving manual analysis hours every month. Selected locations for reclosers in the worst-performing areas to prevent expensive truck rolls.
